At AZTI we work to provide solutions in the conceptualisation, formulation and development of healthy and nutritionally balanced products or different segments of the population, ranging from the general population to children and senior citizens. We advise companies on the nutritional needs of the target population segment and the timing and form of consumption of the product with reference to scientifically based nutritional recommendations.

For this purpose, we work on the formulation from the design of the prototype concept and its orientation to the market, where the macro and micronutrient contribution of each ingredient is assessed, paying special attention to the contribution in fat, sugars and salt.

Also, when designing the prototypes, we study the reduction and/or substitution of ingredients that result in a better nutritional profile of the product according to the algorithm of the Nutriscore or other tools of interest to the industry.
