Elisa Jiménez (PhD) is a Senior Researcher at AZTI Food Research Division since 2008. She holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of the Basque Country (Spain). Her expertise focuses on the development of molecular biology based detection systems, as well as DNA microarrays. She has been involved in several European and National Projects related to the development of food authenticity and safety control methods. She is coauthor of fourteen research publications in international peer-reviewed journals and three patents related to genotyping analysis. Her work at AZTI is currently focused on the development, validation and application of DNA-based analytical methods applied to food authentication and traceability, as well as aptamer-based detection systems for food safety.
