Success story

Driving wellbeing with science — right from the comfort of an app

The challenge

More and more people are aware of the key role nutrition plays in wellbeing and disease prevention. However, the nutritional advice they receive often lacks a solid scientific basis or relies on generic recommendations that do not account for individual needs.

At AZTI, years of work have gone into developing precision nutrition tools, applying omics technologies and artificial intelligence models to generate personalised plans based on biomarkers. The goal is now clear: bring this science to the general public through accessible, practical solutions backed by robust scientific evidence.

The solution

Building on this vision, Lipiwell, an AZTI spin-off, has been launched to make personalised nutrition accessible to everyone. Its approach relies on advanced predictive models developed using artificial intelligence to design nutrition programmes that support everyday wellbeing. Lipiwell’s scientific method is based on measuring biomarkers that connect metabolism and nutrition in real time, allowing recommendations to be tailored to individual needs, goals, and characteristics.

The service combines in-person care—dietitian consultations, sample collection, and biomarker analysis—with a digital environment accessible through an app. The platform enables users to receive personalised nutritional recommendations, access recipes, log physical activity, and continuously track progress.

The results
Two versions are already available on the market:

Both initiatives represent a decisive step towards the democratisation of personalised nutrition, putting science-based tools within everyone’s reach to improve wellbeing in a sustainable and effective way.
