LIFE VERTALIM within the European projects as a example within the working group of Water and Circular Economy

The 14th edition of the National Environmental Congress CONAMA, was held from November 26 to 29 in Madrid. With the motto Rumbo 20.30, CONAMA wants to promote a reflection on how to carry out the ecological transition, addressing the sustainability objectives of the global agenda and studying the situation in Spain to achieve them.

The main program of Conama 2018 is structured in nine thematic axes that cover all areas of sustainability. These axes are: Energy, efficiency and climate change, Mobility, Urban renewal, Rural development, Biodiversity, Water, Environmental quality, Waste, Economy and society.

Within the thematic Water axis, in the technical session organized by the Water and Circular Economy working group, innovative water projects were shown within a circular economy scheme. Especially those projects linked to industrial processes. This working group has collected 32 projects that show their experiences in the field of Water and Circular Economy. One of the projects has been LIFE VERTALIM.

On the other hand, a special space was dedicated to discuss some of the main barriers and challenges to improve the development of the circular economy in the water sector.

Among the different activities of the congress, a poster entitled “Eco-efficient strategies for the improvement of sustainability in the artisanal fish canning sector “LIFE-VERTALIM “has been presented.
