We project the future resilience of marine species under different climate change scenarios using ecosystem analyses, predictive modelling and ecological data. This service complements assessments of current conditions with a strategic medium- and long-term perspective.
Climate change is expected to alter the distribution, abundance and productivity of commercially important marine species in the coming years. Without forward-looking assessments of these impacts, it is difficult to anticipate risks and adapt management measures in sufficient time.
At AZTI, we have developed a forward-looking climate assessment approach designed to support strategic planning across the sector:
Sectors: Fisheries and aquaculture sector
Research lines: Blue Economy, Climate change, Environmental resilience and global change
Research sublines: Trends and scenarios in climate change
