Ortze – Small-scale electric vessel for sustainable operations

What is it?

Ortze is a hybrid-electric vessel designed to demonstrate the feasibility of zero-emission propulsion in short-distance maritime operations. It is equipped with an energy management system that optimises onboard energy use, helping to improve efficiency and reduce the vessel’s carbon footprint.

What challenges does it address?

• It is compatible with renewable charging systems such as the Kaindar station, using cold ironing technology.
