AZTI provides specialised technical advice to public administrations, environmental consultancies, marine managers, and companies in the maritime sector for marine spatial planning and management. We contribute ecosystem assessment methodologies, spatial analysis tools, and scientific criteria to design planning frameworks that integrate sustainability, economic uses, and biodiversity conservation.
There is a growing demand for socio-ecological studies that help to better understand the relationship between humans and the marine environment, enabling management approaches that contribute to blue wellbeing.
