EuskOOS-RI

EuskOOS-RI is the benchmark infrastructure in the field of coastal research and observation, designed to provide high-quality, real-time data on the marine and coastal environment. Its objective is to generate high-resolution time series to support scientific research, environmental management and operational forecasting.

The infrastructure incorporates a wide range of state-of-the-art sensors and instrumentation—current meters, CTDs, ADCPs, drift buoys—as well as remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) for inspection and sampling in hard-to-reach areas, and autonomous marine systems (gliders and surface or submersible vehicles).

EuskOOS-RI is structured as an essential node to complement the operational coastal observation network that AZTI operates for the Basque Government, Provincial Authorities, Port Authorities and other agents. This network includes oceanographic buoys, coastal stations, HF radars, tide gauges, and coastal videometry systems.
