PhD in Biology by the University of Navarra (2005) and Maîtrise de Sciences de l´Environnement, Section Océanologie by the University of Bordeaux (France) (1996). He has more than 14 years of experience. He is specialist in the management of coastal shellfish resources (mollusks, echinoderms and crustaceans). He is the head of a shellfish management project that since 1999 AZTI develops for the Fishery Agency of the Basque Government. Also he is specialist in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and in the writing of Environmental Impact Studies (EIS). He has worked in many environmental impact studies related with aquaculture, marine renewable energies, dredging, ports, etc., and in the development of protocols for Environmental Impact Assessment. Principal researcher in more than 40 projects. He is author of more than 40 publications, including 26 in international peer-reviewed journals and 3 book chapters (
