PhD in biology. Master in Quality Management. 1989 to 1992 Quality control manager in Productos Recondo, Industrial bakery in Spain. 1992 to 1995 Research Assistant in the Scientific Technological Intitute of Navarra, Spain. 1996 -1999 Director of the Institute of Food Quality, Instituto de Calidad Alimentaria (ICA) in Santiago de Chile, and consultant for Chilean food companies in Quality Assurance Systems (HACCP and ISO9000). Since 1999 project manager in AZTI, in the Food Research Division were he has participated in several national and regional funded projects with food companies and in 6 European R&D projects in the development of new food products, functional foods and the valorization of food industry by-products.
