Doctor by the University of Barcelona, studying protist as bioindicators in advanced wastewater treatment systems by using both microscopic and molecular approaches. Later, I moved on to the Institute of Marine Sciences (ICM-CSIC) to study marine ciliates’ global distribution and seasonality. Currently exploring the potential of molecular approaches to get insights on the vertical distribution and behavior of fishes inhabiting the unexplored, dark deep-sea.
