World Fish Migration Day (WFMD), in May 24, is held to improve the publics’ understanding of the importance of open rivers and migratory fish and their needs. AZTI-Tecnalia, URA Basque Water Agency, Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa and Ekolur join this iniciative and conferences about fish migration in Usurbil, a village located on the banks of the Oria River durig the week.

Events on 24th MAY, SATURDAY
We will visit the salmon and eel fish pass in the Oria River´s tidal limit, Orbeldi dam. We will explain how the pass works, sample the fishes in the trap and release them upstream.
After, we will go to the village center, where some activities for kids related to fish migration will be organized: Origami fishes, fish felt brooches, face painting and fish coloring.
