Content: Summary of presentations collected at the XI International Symposium on Oceanography of the Bay of Biscay, held from 1 to 4 April at the Kursaal and the Aquarium of San Sebastian and organized by AZTI-Tecnalia and the Aquarium, in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and the Department of Environment and Spatial Planning of the Basque Government. About 180 experts from laboratories located on the shores of the Bay of Biscay (Portugal, France, Spain and the United Kingdomtook part in this event to present, through 150 communications, the latest advances in oceanographic research in the gulf. These submissions, 52 oral and 98 posters, were divided into several sessions: marine chemistry, pollution, geology, communities in the benthos, plankton, marine dynamics, physical oceanography, fisheries and integrated assessment of the marine environment.
