RIM02: Long-term environmental, climatic and anthropogenic factors affecting subtidal soft-bottom benthic communities, within the Basque coast
Author / Editor: Maialen Garmendia, Ángel Borja, Iñigo Muxika (AZTI-Tecnalia)
Year: 2008
Content: Relationships between environmental, climatic, and anthropogenic factors and benthic communities’distribution and structural patterns were studied along the Basque coast, northern Spain. The investigation was undertaken by applying both univariate analysis (Pearson’s Common Correlations and Spearman Rank Correlations) and multivariate analysis (Canonical Correspondence Analysis (CCA) and Multidimensional Scaling Ordination (MDS)), to a dataset from the Basque Littoral Monitoring Network, which extends from 1995 to 2006. A total of 674 taxa of benthic organisms were recorded from 19 sampling stations.
