The people at AZTI are our main asset to achieve the goals that we have set. AZTI is committed to the people in the organisation and in the growth of its human team, which is a reflection of its strength. In 2005 AZTI had an average staff of 160 people, in 2016 it has grown to 234 staff members.

Biologist, MBA and Master in management of biotech companies. He worked for 10 years in In-vitro diagnostics in global leaders’ companies (Becton&Dickinson, Behring Diagnostics and Dade Behring (now Siemens Healthcare IVD Diagnostics Division) in the divisions of Microbiology, Immunology, Haematology, Clinical Chemistry and Biochemistry. Subsequently he worked as: Business Development Manager in a company CMO dedicated to biopharmaceuticals production; Managing Director in a spin-off from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) developing proprietary new minibioreactor technologies for cell culture screening. He was also the founder and director for many years of a consultancy focused on business development services for bioentrepreneurs, biotechnology SMEs, venture capital firms and public institutions. He has also acted as External Expert Evaluator and Monitor in H2020 for EASME agency in SME instrument and FTI Pilot programmes. He has been working in AZTI, since April 2016, n the Food Research Division for the SUMO project and supporting the commercial strategy/valorization for other projects.
