Objective

The objective of the LOREA project, based on coastal operational oceanography, is to develop different applications of Coastal Operational Oceanography System related to the protection of the marine environment through local hydrodynamic modelling.

These applications are predictive tools adapted to specific local problemstransportation of pollutants (hydrocarbon spillages, floating waste, microbiological quality of bathing waters, etc.), impact on resources and the natural environment (prediction and assessment of risks), modifications to the natural environment (silting). These objectives are tools to help in decision-making for coastal groups.
