Signing of the Collaboration Agreement for the Empleaverde Programme 2009-2010
30/09/09. Bilbao. The signing of the collaboration agreement for the Empleaverde Programme 2009-2010 took place on 10 September. Through it, the Biodiversity Foundation (Fundación Biodiversidad) will be funding three projects designed to create jobs and train workers of many other organisations in the Basque Country in good environmental practices.
Within this collaboration agreement, AZTI-Tecnalia has been participating in the "Zuvisost" project, which sets out to give employees of wineries and fruit juice bottling plants in different Spanish autonomous communities or regions training in techniques in environmental efficiency to improve the use of the resources used in the manufacturing of their products.
These professional training actions in the areas of sustainability and eco-innovation seek, among other things, to save water and energy in the wineries and bottling plants where it is applied to the tune of between 30,000 and 50,000 euros per year, according to Rogelio Pozo, AZTI-Tecnalia's CEO.
The other two projects receiving grants from the Biodiversity Foundation and funded by the European Social Fund are the ones that have been submitted by ACLIMA, the Basque Autonomous Community's Cluster of Environmental Industries, and ATEGRUS, the Technical Association for the Disposal of Waste, Urban Cleanliness and the Environment.
