10/09/09. Pasaia. AZTI-Tecnalia's Marine Research Unit has produced a new Web page devoted to science popularisation. It will be made available to the public as from Friday 11 September at www.azti.es/rim.

The page gathers together the issues of the Marine Research Journal (Revista de Investigación Marina) published so far, and will serve as a platform for the forthcoming ones. It aims to bring the pieces of research (master dissertations, PhD theses, reports on scientific campaigns, research projects) developed in the Marine Research Unit closer to students, researchers, people interested in the marine environment, and the general public.

This e-journal also aims to support the mass media interested in popularising science, so that they can avail themselves of a fresh source of information on the research being carried by AZTI-Tecnalia's Marine Research Unit.

The Marine Research Journal gathers together monographic volumes without a specific frequency and on a range of subjects linked to marine research (fisheries technology, fisheries biology, marine dynamics, environment, pollution, coastal management, oceanography, climate change, marine resources, etc.). They can contribute towards enhancing awareness of the marine environment of the Basque Country and the Bay of Biscay. Published in Spanish, Basque or English, the issues of the journal can be downloaded free of charge in pdf format.

The editors are keen for this journal to be a professional stimulus for the authors, to increase their scientific prestige worldwide, and above all, to be a tool to help keep teachers, researchers, experts and students abreast of what is going on.
