DEVOTES (DEVelopment Of innovative Tools for understanding marine biodiversity and assessing good Environmental Status) project is the collaborative effort of 22 partners distributed across 15 countries in the Baltic, Atlantic, Mediterranean, Black Seas, and Red Sea.
DEVOTES aims to better understand the relationships between pressures from human activities and climate and their effects on marine ecosystems. DEVOTES supports the ecosystem approach to management, develops tools to achieve Good Environmental Status of marine waters, and relates directly to the Marine Strategy Framework Directive.
At the Final Conference, DEVOTES will present scientific results after four years (2012- 2016) of research and dedicate the discussion to the assessment of marine waters.
The Conference is open to any interested person in the following topics: Marine Strategy Framework Directive, marine monitoring, management measures, marine biodiversity assessment, cost-effectiveness, marine ecosystem services, implementation.
Representatives from Regional Sea Conventions, stakeholders and scientists involved in other related EU funded projects are specially welcomed.
